We have the power to significantly improve peoples quality of life and relieve the burden of future disability. We just need to raise enough to fund clinical trials, funding clinic trails will accelerate stem cell research and shorten the waiting time
Government funding primarlily goes to stem cell research in a laboratory, not to clinical research. This means it will take 10 to 15 years for patients to see the benefits of this research.
The ground breaking moment for Bruce McLaren was on one of the car testing days.
He was test driving one of the race cars, as he drove out of the pits, he noticed the fuel filler door was flapping up and down. He felt this was disturbing his lap times.
At first, Bruce was frustrated about the filler door… Then, he began to wonder why it wasn’t being pressed down. McLaren thought, there may be a source of unexpected high air pressure acting under the fuel filler.
Instantly, he pushed forward with his insight. He stopped in the pits, grabbed a pair of shears, and started cutting the bodywork away behind the radiator. He climbed back in the car, and he immediately began turning lap times faster than before.
From that session, came the “nostrils” that have been a key to McLaren’s design feature, including the McLaren F1 road car.
Just as McLaren analysed his cars and made improvements, with careful clinical observations, we can analyse and develop new treatments that allow us to improve patients quality of life and relieve the burden of pain.
Some of our collaborations are listed below.
A full calender of events will be released throughout the year of 2018.
