At Macquarie Stem Cells in Sydney we tell our patients what to expect from stem cell therapy. What you can expect from stem cell therapy will depend on your condition, your body, and your medical history.
While we can boast about our success rate with stem cell therapy and provide facts and figures as to how successful the treatment has been, at the end of the day it comes down to how you as a patient respond to the treatment.
Research published in March found that surgeons who performed knee and hip replacements potentially overstated the benefits of surgery. Why?
According to the research it was because the surgeons who were apart of this research relied on their own perception of the results and not the patient’s. Which seems a bit strange, doesn’t it? But the research team from Sydney’s Whitlam Orthopaedic Research Centre actually found that the surgeons were happier than the patients with the knee surgery they performed.
The published research went on to say that the doctors who were part of the research were telling patients that 95% of patients do well. When really they should be telling their patients there’s a 20% chance they could be dissatisfied with the procedure.
At the moment there is no cure for osteoarthritis, but there are ways to significantly reduce the symptoms. One of those ways is stem cell therapy. Not only is stem cell therapy less invasive and cheaper than surgery it also can be healthier for you.
Stem Cell therapy can’t cure osteoarthritis but it can improve your quality of life. How?
Stem cell therapy helps you by instigating the regenerating process in the affected area. In other words stem cell therapy is used to rehabilitate the connective tissue and cartilage that has been lost because of osteoarthritis in the spine, knee or hip.
It’s simple. Stem Cell therapy is healthier. It’s still considered the leading treatment that provides significant results.
Constant use of pain medication and self-medication can (and usually does) have adverse effects such as:
The other benefit of stem cell therapy over pain medication is that stem cell therapy does more than just mask the pain. Stem cell therapy treats the tissue that’s causing the pain and discomfort.
Early in this article we mentioned facts and figures to boast of. Of 120 patients we’ve treated for osteoarthritis 80% of our patients took to the treatment. Those 80% experienced a 70% or higher improvement rating, which is amazing.
Whether or not stem cell therapy is the right choice depends on you. Health conditions such as diabetes, infection and being on blood thinning medication would preclude you from having stem cell therapy.
If however, you are a stem cell therapy candidate then at Macquarie Stem Cells we would recommend you first consult with our elite team to discuss stem cell therapy as a way to treat your osteoarthritis today.
